Art Journal format change

I changed the format of my art journal.  Daily art journaling has become a part of my life and I found that making boxes for the elements I included on every page was no longer necessary.  Now I put the date somewhere on the page and begin with the intent to include some journaling, a sketch, and word play.  The page is wide open and the next thing to do is start.

Encapsulating this with a MOO -

My journaling has become journaling patterns:

I also create doodles.  This one had its origins in a class I took from Diane Culhane a few years ago called "Doings of a Doodle" where Diane had the class do an exercise taken from Paul Klee's quote, "Drawing is taking a line for a walk".

My line taking a walk :-)

And that day, the drink next to my drawing board was a little cup of green tea:

I highly recommend daily art journaling :-)

A habit

I can hear the birds singing beautifully outside my window.  It is very calm; the temperature is pleasantly cool at present.  So nice :-)

I have a dog sketch first.  He is investigating something

Word art - just a word that I like:

Daily art journaling appears to have become a habit (yay).

Recent art journal entries

I've been turning to my brush pens for quick sketches lately.  Here's another one:

Three horses

While working in my art journal the other day, I was also trying to figure out the best time to go walkies with Remy (thunderstorms were in the forecast).  I know Remy loves getting out and sniffing everything, meeting Briggs - his dog buddy, and friendly humans; thinking about this made me realize how much I love walkies with him and because of him.  He is a poster boy for living life with joy and enthusiasm.  It's infectious!

MOOdle for dog buddies everywhere <3

Daily art journal pages and two rabbits

A couple of days ago I completely filled my second daily art journal.  Next up, a new journal - the blank page - uh oh.  To conquer the first mark/blank page trepidation, I make it a practice to open the journal and "sign" my name; that's the end of the angst :-)

From my just completed art journal this is how I signed the blank page:

Ink, gel pens, Sharpie markers.

And my new art journal sign in:

Ink, Copic markers.

Signing my name is a simple strategy to just get going :-)

As promised, two rabbits :-)
