A Hostile Alien Invasion: One positive outcome...

would be alliance over divisiveness.  This is my theory, anyway :-)

Humanity MOOdle

Word-y things:

My feelings manage to surface in my doodling -

Oy...

and thoughts -

Allow thoughts to roll around; do they withstand scrutiny?

From my art journal today

While working in my art journal this morning, my suddenly empty mug inspired this MOOdle:

I have to admit that I only captured the idea before I was compelled to brew a fresh mug of coffee - the refining and coloring came after :-)

I have a part of each journal page set off for images.  I like doing quick sketches of animals, imaginary things, and lately emotional faces.  This face sketch prompted me to hand letter a funny quote by Yogi Berra:

Time to head back into the studio for some mixed media i.e. messy creativity :-)

Scribbling away

Every day begins with a warm up, usually an entry in my art journal.  It's an easy way for me to get over the perfection/judgment thoughts because in my journal I view my mistakes in a new way.

A mistake can be a challenge - can I learn from it? save it?  A mistake can be a test of my ego, in other words, am I able to accept that it truly is a mess? that it is not "fixable" and I am okay to move on.  If not, well that's just the ego at work. Oy.

Recent scribbles -

A rufous rat-kangaroo (long hind legs for hopping about):

Remy inspired this MOOdle.  He snoozes in my studio, a lot.  Suddenly he will wake up, find a toy and come over and sit next to me.  He looks at me until I look at him.  He has that doggie smile and a waggy tail.  How could I not respond  :-)

A habit

I can hear the birds singing beautifully outside my window.  It is very calm; the temperature is pleasantly cool at present.  So nice :-)

I have a dog sketch first.  He is investigating something

Word art - just a word that I like:

Daily art journaling appears to have become a habit (yay).

Recent art journal entries

I've been turning to my brush pens for quick sketches lately.  Here's another one:

Three horses

While working in my art journal the other day, I was also trying to figure out the best time to go walkies with Remy (thunderstorms were in the forecast).  I know Remy loves getting out and sniffing everything, meeting Briggs - his dog buddy, and friendly humans; thinking about this made me realize how much I love walkies with him and because of him.  He is a poster boy for living life with joy and enthusiasm.  It's infectious!

MOOdle for dog buddies everywhere <3

More than one kind of MOO :-)

The first kind is a highland cow "moo" :-)

ink and brush pen

This first time I ever saw highland cows it was in real life in a field in Scotland.  Incredibly wonderful looking animals.

My usual kind of MOO:

Ink, Copic markers, Sharpie pens

And a MOO variation -  the MOOdle:

Numbat and MOOdle

I had never heard of or seen a numbat until a couple of weeks ago.  It is kind of cute and I wanted to make a sketch of one :-)

Also known as a banded anteater.

And here is another MOOdle:

Ink, Copic markers, Sharpie markers.

Golden retriever fix ;-)

A promise MOOdle

This is a promise I have always made to my dog(s) - no matter what:

Remy and a MOOdle

Remy was larking about in the backyard this afternoon:

He loves the cool, green grass.

He's looking at Michael - "Maybe a game of fetch?"

An appropriate MOOdle, don't you think?

MOOdle time

A MOOdle about about my dog, Remy, and I think most other dogs:

You can see the hope in their eyes <3

I think it is yet another appealing aspect of a dog's nature :-)

New MOOdle on Monday and patterns

My most recent MOOdle:

From my inner grammar nerd :-)

I recently converted to the Oxford comma because it just made sense to me.  And in recognition of this shift, I thought to myself, "why not" and created a MOOdle.

Yesterday I used the MISC section of my art journal to draw these random patterns:

I think they're colorful and have a sense of humor :-)

A MOO can be a MOOdle :-)

A MOO that is somehow different from a regular MOO is a MOOdle.  I don't know, it just came to me :-)

And today's MOOdle...

Beginnings -

This is the page from my art journal where I first sketched the idea:

A quick little sketch.

Giving it some more thought, I'm pretty sure this little dog drawing -

I blogged about this swirly little guy here.

must have been floating around in my head while I was doodling (he's from the sketchbook I always carry with me):

Fun stuff!
