Imaginary flowers from a nearby planet...

These flowers are found everywhere on A Nearby Planet. I call them Planetary Brights; as they sway and move, they make beautiful sounds that are pretty cool, too :-)

With the wet...

come the flowers. A lot of rain the past few days. Hail yesterday morning - unusual.
Remy and I were on walkies and we spied a bit of color. This:
Time to investigate:
Remy really put his nose into it:
Okay, so he probably wasn't checking out the blossoms exactly :-)

An unplanned stop

I had planned to continue working on this piece but something said, "Stop", so I did.
More Planet flora

Today was a great day

for getting outside with Remy:
He's a bit impatient - he wants to get on with 'walkies'!
Checking out the pear tree blossoms:
Blossoms everywhere!
But then there's the NWS winter storm watch for tomorrow evening: snow...

What a morning it has been...

it's the weather. The feeling of Spring. Windows open, typing this whilst listening to the birds singing away. Sigh. So lovely.

The persistence of...flowers :-)

I like working in my studio and occasionally glancing out the window at the blowing snow – it’s enjoyable because I’m inside happily painting away and the “weather” is outside.
So here’s what blossomed today:
They look a bit like flowers...

3-Step transformation

Give your blossoms a whole new...something.

1. Cut out.

2. Mount on foam core (or cardboard).

3. Hang.

Yay!

Moving blossoms from 2-D to 3-D came from Carla Sonheim's "Flower Crazy", the class I mentioned a few posts ago ( http://carlasonheim.com/flowercrazy.html ). The class was FUN and super messy - at least the way I did it!

Poor little dudes...

Snowstorm - quelle surprise. Cold days with gusting winds. So we have robins fluffing out their feathers to retain warmth. Look at these two:
Br-r-r-r.
Meanwhile, back in my studio, it still feels like Spring! More flower blossoms not nearly done. I plan to cut them out individually.
Crying out for pastels, charcoal, conte...

Carried away...

creating imaginary flower blossoms:
I had intended to work for a few minutes embellishing the watercolors I had left to dry. However, some time later when I figured I was done with this, I realized the sun was setting. Where did the time go? I just love it when I am working and I have no notion of time passing.
Imaginary blossoms.

So what do I think of the blossom study? Some of them work as blossoms and others are more from outer space :-)
