Snow flowers

Winters' reminder - s.n.o.w. - stopped falling yesterday: and there I was happily painting flowers in my studio using techniques I am learning from "Flower Crazy" (http://www.carlasonheim.com/flower-crazy-2/).

Remembering my girl

I must have been thinking about the first dog my husband and I chose when I sketched this:

We took about three years(!) to decide that it was time for us to add a puppy to make us a trio. Her name was Mistie and she was a West Highland white terrier. Her favorite activity was to run a kickball size plastic ball around the back yard, nestling the ball between her shoulder and the side of her face. I loved that girl.

Quick before he moves

I love doing quick sketches. However, with my Golden, Remy, well, we aren't in-sync some, well no, most days. I begin to draw and within seconds he will move: yes, even when I think he's snoozing. Arrgh. So I was pleased to capture this:

"Good boy, Remy."

Make a sign!

Some parts of life are just too important to ignore. Since I've done it many times - the ignoring part - I make signs to display as a gentle reminder. Having a Golden retriever also helps :-)

I love...

w o r d s. I love to draw and write and doodle them, too. I took a "Letterista" class from Lisa Engelbrecht and it was fun fun fun! So here's a word for you - and I hope you've done a lot of it today :-)
